How it works
Use this product to tell me what pads you would like me to make.  For multiple pads of the same type, you can choose a quantity, if you want different lengths/absorbencies then you’ll need to submit a pad request for each one.

As these are a request, there is no upfront charge for this product, however the pads will need to be purchased from the website once they have been made and added to the store for you.  Pricing guide can be found below.

Once I have received the “order” I will make pads using the options you’ve requested and email to let you know when they are available to purchase.

Timeframe:
Pad orders will take approx 1-2 weeks, depending on how many are ordered and what other orders I am working on.

Style of Pad:
You can choose the style of pad.

  • “All-in-One” (AIO) – the most common pad style because it’s all in one piece (Absorbency is sewn in, with no additional inserts needed), and easy to use – just pop it into your underwear like you would a disposable pad.
  • “Base and insert”– (Example Stackable | Example foldable ) – This has a base without any absorbency in it, and the absorbent inserts are placed on top.  This allows you to stack inserts depending on your flow, and/or to change the insert without needing to remove the base.
  • “Pocket” – (Example Foldable) – This looks like an AIO once assembled, but it has an opening on the underpants side into which the absorbent inserts are placed.  Giving the same sort of functionality as an AIO pad, but with the ability to customise the level of absorbency and use foldable faster drying inserts.

Fabrics:
You may select types of fabric print and colours from the options, but not specific fabric prints.

Natural Fabrics can be more “breathable” but can also be more prone to staining.  Synthetic fabrics can help wick the wetness away into the core of the pad, feeling drier on top and can resist staining, but can feel “sweatier” in hot weather.

Absorbency:
All AIO pads are made with graduating core layers of hemp/cotton blend fleece with a full layer of cotton flannelette.  “Light” is 1 core layer, “Regular” is 2 core layers and “Heavy” is 3 core layers.

Adjustable absorbency pads (Pocket or Base & Insert) are made with either a “foldable” insert (fold in thirds for use, for regular absorbency), or “stackable” oblong shaped inserts that are each a light absorbency and can be stacked together to increase absorbency.

Waterproofing/Leak Resistance:
You have the option of no leak resistance (pads will leak through if not changed regularly or your flow is too heavy for the pad, but are more “breathable”), or “PUL” – which is a polyurethane coated fabric which provides a waterproofing layer inside the pad.  Waterproofing is highly recommended for regular and heavy absorbency pads for peace of mind.

Lengths and pricing:
Pads are generally priced according to a base price per pad length, then an extra 50c to $1 for additional extras such as PUL, organic cotton, bamboo velour, minky or fabrics where the print placement causes more fabric wastage.  Measurements are approximate.

  • 20cm “Pixie Narrow”, 6.5cm centre, 7cm ends = Approx $7-8
  • 20cm “Pixie Flared”, 6.5cm centre, 9.5cm ends = Approx $7-8
  • 22cm “Nymph”, 6.5cm centre, 9cm ends = Approx $11
  • 25cm “Neophyte”, 6.5-7cm centre, 10cm ends = Approx $12
  • 26cm “Lamba”, 6.5cm centre, 9cm/11.5cm ends = Approx $13
  • 28cm “Maiden”, 6.5-7cm centre, 9.5cm/11.5cm ends = Approx $14
  • 29cm  “Amira”, 6.5cm centre, 10cm ends = Approx $14
  • 29cm “Amira Flared”, 6.5cm centre, 10cm/12cm ends = Approx $15
  • 30cm “Acolyte”, 6.5-7cm centre, 10.5cm/12.5cm ends *= Approx $15
  • 31cm “Malika”, 6.5cm centre, 11cm ends * = Approx $16
  • 33cm “Priestess”, 6.5-7cm centre, 11cm/14cm ends * = Approx $16

* Note that Acolyte, Layla, Priestess, Goddess and Djinn pads have a longer back than the front for more coverage (meaning the wings are not in the centre of the pad)

Obsidian Star reserves the right to refuse to make pad requests if it appears the order has been made in bad faith.
