Base Pad Fabric = Polarfleece top (100% synthetic), Cotton backing with hidden PUL.
Inserts = Flannelette & bamboo/cotton terry
Absorbency: Each insert = regular

Ai2 Or Base&Insert pads feature a waterproofed base pad that has no absorbency itself, with removable inserts that sit on top and can be replaced as needed while leaving the base pad on.

Each insert is made from 1 layer flannelette with 1 layer bamboo/cotton terry which is folded into 3rds to use.  Once folded it has 3 layers of flannelette and 3 layers bamboo terry making a regular absorbency that unfolds for fast drying.

This style of pad essentially gives you 2 pads in one, and reduces the environmental impact by having only the base with synthetic waterproofing materials, with the inserts made from natural fabrics.  You may even be able to substitute a folded facewasher or other absorbent item for additional inserts if you wish.
