Includes one base and 4 inserts. The base is made from a top layer of purple microfleece and a backing of printed cotton. The inserts are made from two layers hemp/organic cotton fleece and 1 layer flannelette. You can use one insert at a time for light to medium flow, or use 2 inserts together if you need more absorbency.   This base is leak-resistant, thanks to the fleece topping, but is not as leakproof as the PUL backed versions. It is important to use the right number of inserts for your flow and to change inserts regularly enough that they are not allowed to become too soaked through. If your flow goes onto the ribbon straps that hold the inserts in place, you can wipe this off when changing inserts, or choose a longer pad so that you are not bleeding onto where the ribbons would be.
