I'll be honest... I used to think aprons were for old ladies. I could see why they were useful, but I just didn't think they were for me. But then I got sick of splashing spaghetti sauce on my front when cooking... so I ended up tucking a teatowel down my top - not exactly a good look! and thinking perhaps an apron wasn't such a silly idea after all. I also started wishing for an apron to stop me being covered in threads and fluff from sewing. Hmm, perhaps an apron would be handy! So I got myself an apron... and I actually found, much to my surprise, I used it. So then I bought another one, a prettier one... and used it even more. But I wasn't happy with how little coverage it gave in the bust area. I needed to make one that fit properly, and looked nice - so created my own design.

These aprons are made to flatter the figure, whatever size that may be. The mannequin the aprons are displayed on at the top of the page is quite small (perhaps size 10?), and to the left they are being modelled on a size 14 woman.

There are currently 2 designs available. With plans for more designs coming shortly.

Whether you use the apron for cooking, craft, housework, gardening or whatever - you may never want to take it off!

Panelled "Hostess" Aprons
These retro aprons are reminiscent of the 50s style of elegant aprons that were as pretty as the dresses they protected.

The flared panels give these aprons a beautiful full skirt, and the alternating patterns and plains create a slimming appearance.

Shaped to accommodate and accentuate a woman's beautiful curves!

Fully lined, these aprons are made with a "Turned & Topstitched" technique that means there are no exposed seams and the straps are sewn into the seams - making the apron reversible with no unsightly seams. Most styles have a plain back in the same fabric as the plain panels on the front.
Click here to see an image of the apron back.

Each apron is lovingly crafted by hand, with roughly 3 hours work in each apron.

5 Panel "Entree" sized Apron

This should comfortably fit up to about a size 12. Women with a larger bust may prefer the "Main" size as it is slightly wider all over, which will provide more coverage at the bust, and has a fuller skirt.
7 Panel "Main" sized Apron

This should comfortably fit up to about a size 26. On a smaller woman (as shown on the above mannequin), the side panels will simply wrap around the sides more, and still provide a great fit.

Murasaki Mama Aprons - for Kids!

These aprons are for the little ones. Available in standard shaped aprons and flared styles similar to the adult versions. While there will be mostly girly ones, there will be aprons available for boys too. Cooking doesn't have to be just for the girls!

Cooking isn't the only thing that can be done in these aprons though! They can be used for messy kiddy crafts, playing with playdough, protecting the clothing during car trips etc. and the "Bite Sized" ones can even be useful as an alternative to a bib!

"Bite Sized" = Tiny aprons suitable for ages approx 1-3
"Snack Sized" = Larger children's aprons for ages approx 4-8
