I'll be honest... I used to think aprons were for old ladies. I could see why they were useful, but I just didn't think they were for me. But then I got sick of splashing spaghetti sauce on my front when cooking... so I ended up tucking a teatowel down my top - not exactly a good look! and thinking perhaps an apron wasn't such a silly idea after all. I also started wishing for an apron to stop me being covered in threads and fluff from sewing. Hmm, perhaps an apron would be handy! So I got myself an apron... and I actually found, much to my surprise, I used it. So then I bought another one, a prettier one... and used it even more. But I wasn't happy with how little coverage it gave in the bust area. I needed to make one that fit properly, and looked nice - so created my own design.
Fully lined, these aprons are made with a "Turned & Topstitched" technique that means there are no exposed seams and the straps are sewn into the seams - making the apron reversible with no unsightly seams. Most styles have a plain back in the same fabric as the plain panels on the front. Click here to see an image of the apron back. Each apron is lovingly crafted by hand, with roughly 3 hours work in each apron.
